Healing Meditations

 

Theory of Sound & Color Healing

The theory behind the use of sound/color healing derives from that part of the body or psyche which is ruled by the appropriate Zodiacal sign / Aspect of Consciousness, which has it's own corresponding color, and note (see the correspondence chart).  There several ways in which these factors can interact: 

  1. For an ailment in a certain region, if the ailment is caused by that region being weakened or under developed, then the corresponding color/note for that region is used.  If the ailment is caused by that region being too strong, active, or over-developed, then the complimentary region of the body needs to be strengthened by utilizing the complementary Zodiacal sign's color/note.  
  2. Also note that when a color is employed, it's compliment is also activated.  Therefore, from the point of view of maintaining balance, it is often desirable to use the complimentary color/note as well.
  3. For an ailment which is of psychological, mental, or spiritual origin, then the other correlations also come into play.  These include the sound/color's relationship to those principles of consciousness as they impact an individual. (ie. Will, Imagination, Memory, etc...)

Sound & Color Meditations

To experiment with one of the following healing meditations the following are suggested:

  1. Perform the balancing meditation.
  2. Then for the desired meditation:
    1. Click on the appropriate link below to bring up the meditation.
    2. Maximize the window, if desired.
    3. Simply look at the Image with a receptive state of mind.
    4. Listen to the note (s) being played, and internally sound the note.
    5. After looking/listening for approximately 2 minutes, close your eyes and imagine yourself in the center of an infinite sea of vibration of the color shown.
    6. Intone the note being played out loud using the syllables IAO (pronounced EE-AH-OH) three times with a full breath after each intonation.
    7. Length of time spent meditating on an any individual color or Tarot key should not exceed 5 minutes.
