Wisdom

Wisdom

From my years of email exchanges with many people, I have grown into the conclusion that wisdom is not measured by what one knows. I can see that there is a definite stage in one's development where one becomes able to release their attachment to "what they know". If they're attached to what they know, then they don't.

This ability to release attachment to knowledge seems key to being able to kneel to hear the voice of the Hierophant, which is the Real Teacher and revealer of Wisdom.

Telling someone that they "don't know jack", is a quick way of revealing attachments in the other, and in yourself, if there are any.

Regarding the Rabbi on reincarnation, to speak authoritatively so as to incite fear and thus obtain obedience seems like a terrible abuse of power. Attachment to external authority breeds so much fear and anger.

Humanity is still very attached to the inner and outer idols which it has made.

Take from it what you will; dismiss it if you wish; for I insist on your Freedom.

P.S.
Ok, I don't "really" insist on your Freedom, cause I'm not attached to that either.

Regarding the recent exchange between N.J. et. al...

Relate neither to the past nor future but live out the present with a smiling, heart. Be receptive to what occurs NOW and resolving to take it, understand it, and apply it.

To me, the most telling moment is when one faces the appearance of an Adversary (not hypothetically, not tomorrow, but NOW).  All claims to knowledge or experience are suspended and the VERIFICATION of their degree of integration of these truths are distilled into one moment - NOW.

How does one RESPOND to the apparent "blow"?

From a sense of separation (me Vs. you, pride/anger/fear)?

OR

From a sense of Unity?

Can we see the "beloved" - NOW, even as the blow itself is delivered?

If we can, then we may even see that the "blow" was not a blow at all, but a blessing, for the hand that rocks the Tower, is not Wrath, but Grace.

Amen!

It is the loving hand that strikes down the error in us and awakens us from our nightmare.
