The Perception of Separation

The Perception of Separation

Basic to Human consciousness is the perception of separation. But who perceives, and what is being perceived as separate? Our doctrine teaches that there is only One Thing. If this is true, then it must be that One Thing that is perceiving and it must be that One Thing that is being perceived as separated.

What is it that perceives things as separate? Self-Consciousness (K1), no?

What is the Ego and what is the ego?

Now one could reply that this is a question that one should not be asking, or that to ask it implies that I am trapped in ego thinking, etc...,

It "looks" like the "Perceiver" is Self-Consciousness, which itself is but a (to varying degrees) transparent vehicle for that part of us that has free will (to choose). If this is so, then, the real Perceiver is none other than the Christ in us.

So basically it all boils down to God putting on the clothes of ignorance in order to accomplish something here on the material plane (see tarot key 0). So this ignorance, results in us identifying with the "personality" as a separate thing. The little ego, which in reality does not exist, is an illusion resulting from the personality seeing itself as an independent thing, instead of as merely a vehicle for the Christ (which is itself but a vehicle for the indivisible ONE.)

So all the sin and guilt results from ignorance (the illusion of separation). We, in our ignorance, think that We (separate ego self) did something against God. The truth is that We (separate ego self) did nothing, for the separation (in reality) never happened. What did happen was that God took a part of himself and put it into a state of ignorance (apparent separation) in order to grow and evolve that part of himself into more livingness. Now how does ignorance (or apparent separation) bring about growth and more livingness?

This is the great secret of "Limitation" or Restriction, or Concentration. What is concentration? Concentration is a forgetting, ignorance, and limiting, of everything else but the one thing you are concentrating on. So what are we (as particularized expressions of God) concentrating on? Why the Physical Plane of course. So why are we here on Earth? This relates to the involution of Spirit into lower rates of vibration (matter) and of its evolution back to higher rates of vibration (spirit). Basically we are God's Vehicles (eyes, and hands) whose task it is to evolve and Redeem Matter (bring up in Vibratory Rate and thus liberation and freedom and Unity with the ONE). It's God's game of taking a part of himself from the ONE to the MANY (involution) and then back again from the MANY to the ONE (evolution).

We are particularized concentrations of the ONE LIFE POWER, which the ONE LIFE POWER is growing as particularized aspects of ITSELF (differentiation and multiplicity). How does the ONE LIFE POWER grow particularized aspect of itself? By placing those aspects of itself into a state of awareness characterized by Limitation and Concentration and Ignorance (apparent separation).

So basically the Non-Dual Godhead plays a game with itself by creating a playground of Duality and differentiation so that it can entertain itself. But ultimately it's all the ONE taking on the appearance of the MANY for the purpose of its own entertainment. Like playing peek-a-boo with oneself. So all of existence is just God getting his jollies by playing peek-a-boo with himself!

And it's the Fool, the Joker in the deck, that helps us to realize that all of creation is just a game of peek-a-boo! Of course from our limited awareness, if it is a game, it sure looks like a damn serious one!

Oh dear!

What did I mean?

Why the ONE is ALL of them, and NONE of them at the same time, of course!  :-)

The ONE is EVERY-THING and NO-THING at the same time.

This is the Divine Paradox, after all.

For the Universe is NOT, and yet at the same time, it IS.

Or as God might say from behind the mask of dualism, "Peek-a-Boo! - Gotcha!" :-)

So what should we do about this PARADOX?

ENGAGE in LIFE as best we can, while looking beyond the MASK for the FACE OF THE BELOVED that lies behind all form. Peek-a-boo, is the game of finding out what's behind the mask. If we can accomplish this then perhaps we can reply to God in turn:

"Peek-a-Boo.  Hey God, I see you!"

Or put another way,

"In ALL things, great and small, I see the Beauty of the Divine Expression" - Peek-a-boo! :-)

I think that the key to understanding this paradox is to look at this game, not as a closed circle of endless masking, or endless births and deaths, but as a progressive Spiral leading to ever greater discernment leading towards conscious Union and Co-Creation with God.

For after all, if the game didn't have some ultimate goal, it would get repetitive and nobody would want to play it, not even God, I suppose.

Hmmm, perhaps that is why there is Death?

God doesn't want us to get stuck in a repetitive rut.

Here's the ultimate Peek-a-Boo:

To be able to peel back the mask of Death and see Love.

Now wouldn't THAT be an accomplishment!
