Lust

Lust

This reminds me, I have yet to write that essay on lust that I promised you  months ago. I guess I got side tracked one the whole "One Will" discussion.

To understand lust, one must first understand the nature of "desire" - both  pure (symbolized by the white rose) and impure (tinged with the personal and  based upon physical sensation - symbolized by the red rose).

At its root, all  desire is good, for all desire ultimately comes from God, and is a desire for  more livingness, more aliveness, more liberation.  However, it is the particular "forms"  that our desires take, that are often in need of improvement. For the "form"  that a desire takes is determined by the state of our soul, our personality,  our values, and the culture that we reside in.

But ultimately since "I will look upon every circumstance of my life as a  particular dealing of God with my soul", then even the forms that my desires  take (both conscious and subconscious) is itself a dealing of God with my  soul.

For since it is desire that drives us into action, experience, and growth, I  will encounter experiences as a result of my acting on my desires that will  bring upon me God's Justice and/or Mercy and thus I will grow from the  experience.

If the form that my desire took was a particularly base one (such as lust)  then I can grow from the experience either by experiencing God's Justice (if I  act on the base desire) or I can grow (via the preferred method of) God's  Mercy (if I can transmute the form of the desire into a form that is more in  harmony with its original pure state as it came from God.)

How can we transmute our desires?

  1. Burn our Copper

  2. Turn it White

  3. Turn it to Redness and,

  4. Make visible coin.

More to come . . . .

Take Care,

=====================================================

Isabel,

You write: >IF SEX AND MONEY ARE SO BAD WHY DO WE ALL WANT IT?

Sex and Money are not bad. It's the LUST (unbalanced desire) for sex and money that's bad (brings unpleasant consequences). When you're over attached to something you're not using your power of discrimination (6), and then you're out of harmony and balance. By not using your powers of attention (1) properly you've given suggestions to your subconscious that have strengthened the animal levels of your vital soul (The Red Lion of K8) and as a result, you've chained (15) yourself to the object (s) of your desire, and set yourself up for the inevitable fall (16) to follow. This fall is actually a blessing is disguise as the lightning bolt from above is the grace of God knocking off your false crown of personal ego and destroying the false gods (Sex & Money) that you've created for yourself. Then after you've hit bottom, you can sit and meditate (17) on the truths that this experience has revealed to you.

So, why is all this necessary?

The serpent of sensation tempts us into actions from which we learn to discriminate. That which leads us into temptation eventually delivers us from evil once we learn how to control it.
