KarmaN.J., As I used the term, "karma" was referring to those as yet unfelt (in consciousness) repercussions of some previous action (s). By using the concept of "debt" along with those repercussions, it implies that those repercussions will have an effect upon us at some level, and must be dealt with, either subconsciously, or consciously. We can deal with the bullet after it hits us, before it hits us, or before it's fired. However, we do not have to receive the impact of the repercussion on the same level at which the wave is traveling. If we can see it, we can meet the repercussion on our own terms, by rising above it in consciousness (avoiding the pain) and often also cancel out the repercussion wave by vibrating on it polar opposite. Here's a trivial example: Say you've been habitually unkind to other people. As a result of this action, you find other people to be unkind back to you, resulting in pain. Had you been aware of the quality of the incoming repercussions, you could choose to meet the repercussion in a way which would keep you from automatically reacting to the pain and perpetuating the unkindness (rising in consciousness from "reacting" to responding from an understanding), and help to stop it from continuing by meeting their unkindness with Justice (an more balanced combination of mercy, kindness, and severity ), and thus set up a series of repercussions to start to mitigate the consequences of those past acts (using polarity). So with repercussions there are a variety of possible scenarios: We can get hit, and become a casualty. We can fire back, and perpetuate the violence. We can choose to take the bullet so that others won't get hit, and experience the pain, anger, or perhaps acceptance. If we can see the bullet coming, we can dodge it, and let someone else get hit. We can go around to all the others who were hit, and tend to their wounds to alleviate pain, and to prevent them from becoming infected with the illness of revenge. We can go up to the shooter, and attempt to dispense Justice in such a way as to stop the shooting altogether. We can attempt to address the root causes of the incident, in the attempt to prevent other incidents from occurring. Root causes such as ignorance, poverty, lack of love, etc... JC. |
