The Events of September 11th, 2001
11 Sep 2001, 02:59:16 PM The One is being very dramatic today, exposing Itself to a very bumpy section of the chain of cause and effect. It is still the Self experiencing Itself from all aspects--perps and so-called victims--a test of our perspective. Keep your esoteric cool, colleagues. Mass mind pull is at its max with this event. Joseph _______________________ Right on, Joseph. I was trying to frame a post when I read yours. Today's events are a real challenge to those of us who tread the Path of Return and strive to see past the illusion of separation. Here we have a real exercise in seeing the One seemingly attacking Itself, hurting Itself. I have just finished a meditation sending Light and Love to all involved. It took effort to send to the seeming perpetrators, but I must see them as equally hurt, equally doing the Will of the One. What a lesson for each of the pfc list members today. Martha _______________________ When mass emotions of anger, fear and hatred are surging, it is very difficult not to get swept up in their expression. IMO, keeping your universal perspective is far more needed and effective than prayer and tends to modify the reflex actions that are sure to come. Thanks for your response, Martha. Joseph _______________________ 13 Sep 2001 I somehow remember Ann Davies talking about there being a coming "great separation" of souls and how critically important it is for us to keep up our thoughts of love and unity and not allow ourselves to get dragged down into the mass mind. Does anyone else recall her words? Also reminds me of Tarot keys 2-9-16. Could these events mark a transition for a segment of humanity from the 1st stage of unfoldment to the second? 2: Mass mind, but also Universal Mind - Uniting Intelligence. I can see just in the mental arena alone, there being exhibited a "separation" of sorts. Some settling down into eye-for-an-eye, some trying to rise above, and some shifting between the two in a titanic struggle between the desire to destroy (Mars) and the desire to heal (Venus). K13 (Death) shows both centers. How are people using their imaginations right now? (K13:Imaginative Intelligence) RL _______________________ IMO, we (Americans) have such an instant revengeful reflex against injustice that this pressure will force the U.S. administration to act in excess and hastily, generating more hate. Who has the courage to break this cycle??? Must it always be done from utter depletion of human lives and resources? Will our emotional urgency demand use of our most terrible weapons of mass destruction that poison the planet? Joseph _______________________ War Prayer O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with their little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it - for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen. Mark Twain _______________________ Reminds me of the Bhagavad-Gita where Krishna is extolling Arjuna to arms: "Considering your dharma, you should not vacillate. For a warrior, nothing is higher than a war against evil. The warrior confronted with such a war should be pleased, Arjuna, for it comes as an open gate to heaven. But if you do not participate in this battle against evil, you will incur sin, violating your dharma and your honor." [Chapter 2] RL _______________________ God, help us to kill those foreign bastards--our brothers in Christ. Please suspend your command to "turn the other cheek' while we do it as we are going to do it anyway. Your Bhagavad quote revealed an unexpected duality and an Islamic heavenly reward promise!!? I will have to read that document again with more discrimination and less reverence. Joseph _______________________ ___JN___ Correct! As a good friend explained, this was "written as a criticism of American aggression against Spain in 1898," and "still stands as an excellent condemnation of militarism." Kindest, JSW _______________________ IMO, not necessarily a condemnation of militarism, but a damn good example of how our real desires, religiously unacceptable, are cloaked in pious, self deceiving rhetoric. An escape for gross inhumanities to be perpetrated under the guise of being God's will. (It really is but not in the punitive way it is usually regarded.) A very old guilt avoidance mechanism. RL, I can see how M.Twains statement attracted you. He too was a great lover of irony. Joseph _______________________ 18 Sep 2001 Interesting real-life dilemna. How does one RESPOND to an attack? I think we're all largely agreed that "Reacting" from an instinctual level is likely to result in less than pleasant results for all. The letter from Tamim Ansary (which Bruce forwarded to the list) certainly points out the danger in leaning too far towards the "Severity" end of the spectrum, yet unbalanced Mercy seems inadequate as well. It seems well to look into the roots of an "attack" to see what the real enemy is: In my opinion, when one invokes Mars energy, it is usually out of fear/anger (separation) (symbolic of Keys 15 & K16), or a sense of justice & "balancing the scales" (restoring harmony & balance, reminiscent of Keys 4,6 and 11). Now if we look at the Seven Paths of Spiritual unfoldment (bottom row, indicating conditions/results) we can see the process of bondage - war - peace, and the rebuilding a new order. K15: Bondage : Different groups in a state of separation. Set against each other. Imagining that others are the "enemy". K16: Awakening: Attack, Destruction & War, which awakens a group/people/country to a threat - Something which destroys the old ways of living, thinking, and feeling. Also counter-attack, in which the attacker learns the consequences of acting & reacting from a state of "separation". The Mars energy spares no one in their tower. No one. K17: Peace: Error destroyed, one is now able to rest peacefully to ponder, meditate and and reflect upon the Truth. We can see the principles and our relationship to them. We seek a foundation for rebuilding. K18: Rebuilding: Rebuilding organic structures (relationships) based upon a deeper understanding of truth. K19: Regeneration: The newly built organism matures and takes on a life of its own - it becomes conscious. A vehicle for experience and for expressing will. My only other observation is that there may be a tendency (for those of us who may be "half-wise") to, after having experienced the first shock of K16 (Mars) energy, one may want to skip the work and proceed directly to K17 (try to make a premature peace). This may indicate a tendency of wanting to avoid having to face the possibility of giving up our cherished delusions - delusions which will prevent us from ever seeing truth, unless they are destroyed on the battle field of the mind (and possibly a physical battlefield as well). Now that Mars has been unleashed, I think it important that one recognize its beneficial use in an inner fashion (to destroy erroneous beliefs) so that it may be used in a balanced & beneficial way on the physical plane so that error is destroyed, not just bodies and property. One should apply the sword to oneself first, before laying it upon another. If one does this, then they may be as Arjuna was to Krishna - performing for the ONE, the necessary job of pruning the garden. RL _______________________ An incredible response to the attack was from Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. "The abortionists have got to bear some of the burden for this because God will not be mocked. I really believe that the Pagans and the abortionists and feminists and the gays and lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternate life style, the ACLU people for the American Way--all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say "You helped this happen!" By JF, seconded by PR. In another talk, he said "God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us what we probably deserve." Jerry is not backward in uttering his beliefs. These statements coming from fundamentalism made me realize how primitive that mind set is. To the primitives, anything unpleasant or disastrous was punishment by the Gods for breaking some kind of tribal taboo. It is amazing that that kind of mind set is still with us--world over. Joseph _______________________ Joseph, Actually, I do not disagree with the events as JF and PR have said. I do disagree with their interpretation, however, as I see these events as a REWARD, and not a punishment. To interpret JF & PR's comments: In part, the attack on America can be seen as a fundamentalist reaction to those positive forces and agencies which have been helping America grow into a more free and tolerant society. The violent reaction of the fundamentalists (both Muslim and Christian on occasion) is in response to those Truths which conflict with the fundamentalist delusional world-view. Thus, being attacked is America's REWARD for being at the forefront in the struggle for Liberty and liberation. Like the Grinch who "stole" Christmas, Bin Laden and his fundamentalist like-minded thinkers will soon find out their miscalculation. America (like Christmas) is not about wealth and materialism. America is a state of mind. All those who love liberty are Americans in spirit. This tragedy opens up the possibility of bringing the whole world together. In showing our true selves in time of strife, even our poor deluded brothers and sisters who have attacked us can be redeemed, and will sit beside us at the table - in brotherhood. Thus a TRUE VICTORY will be achieved. Jesus' admonition to "Love thy enemies" now takes on new meaning, no? "Love thy enemy" is the Ultimate weapon - for it leads to Ultimate Victory.
