Death
What's the matter S.E. ? You wanna live forever? But, that is not what I am interested in succeeding at, as that requires very
little effort to achieve. Taken on the literal/physical level, I can relate to this response. But tongue-in-cheek introduction aside, there is something here worth examining, for Death is not an enemy, but a friend. In fact, I would put forth the assertion that understanding the mystery of Death is KEY to success in LIFE. (Dissolution is the secret of the Great Work). For we must learn how to die in order to truly live. The question of course, is "What is it that we must learn to let go of
and let die?" I am curious about that success that requires Life as it's grinding stone. Life and Death are two sides of the SAME coin. Can't really know one without knowing the other. Note the relationship between K3 (the doorway in) and K13 (the doorway out). And who says that we can't change? :-) Success requires having the ability to Change. Fire dissolves. Therefore a big part of success relates to understanding the dissolving power of fire which brings about change. Or as the Emperor says "In order to make worlds, one must begin by smashing them to bits." This means understanding and using the LOVE power which not only brings life, but also brings death. This principle applies on many levels (not just the physical). On the mental plane this principle is also in play in the mental activity known as "analysis" which breaks down and dissolves. But more importantly, one must be able to let-go of our attachment to the
existing form (existing truths, beliefs, wants, habits, etc...) , so that we're
able to dissolve/incinerate it, or to allow it to dissolve, and assimilate the
essence to ourselves, thus allowing new creation to take place. What are you trying to say? Mars Rules both Aries AND Scorpio. So do you think any of this has anything to do with the phrase: "To die daily"? Does the practice of "dying daily" have anything to do with "success"? To me, this "dying daily" means continually letting go of the past so that we CAN be in the Now.
