Being RightJohn, In my humble opinion the desire for the "Right Answer" and the resistance to "Meditate on it" are related to one's maturity level of their desire nature.. Most folks desires are tied into "Getting" (some THING) instead of "Becoming". As in: Getting the Right (canned, dead, final, absolute) answer instead of Becoming capable of contacting the Living Truth all around them. Getting that degree, instead of Becoming the best professional that they can be. Getting love, instead of Becoming lovable. Getting the job/girl/guy/money/house/car/toy instead of Becoming the type of person capable of enjoying these "things" without being attached to them. Getting away from the job/girl/guy/lack-of-money instead of Becoming the type of person capable of dealing with life's challenges without attachment to results. etc.... Why do we want to "GET" when ultimately we can't take it with us when we die? (Because we WANT that thing!) (btw, the most important question one can ask themselves is: "Why do I want X ?" ) The only "thing" in this world which we DO take with us is our PERSONALITY, so might as well desire to perfect our personality, which means "Becoming". Of course wanting to get some THING also grows our personality as we learn how to get what we want and so evolve our desire nature from dense desires to the more subtle desires, so either way we grow. So, DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. I insist on your freedom. JC The process of becoming never stops. See also being right |
