Laws for Creativity
This instructional video, produced by Robert Bosler of the Australian
Art Establishment, provides an excellent
overview of some of the fundamental laws for creation and how they manifest
themselves within the realm of human action.
On his website,
Robert gives an overview of these laws, but a mere summary of them cannot
compare in effectiveness to actually seeing and hearing Robert describe and
illustrate them. The principles given are sound, but more
importantly, Robert conveys an ethos of sincerity and service whose
vibration elevates the experience of watching this video to that of a meditation
itself. Looking at these laws as Robert presents them, we
can see that indeed they are based upon sound principles of Ageless
Wisdom. And while the video explains the Laws for Creativity
plainly, without reference to the Ageless Wisdom or Tarot, these principles do
have their correspondences in the symbolism of the Ageless Wisdom as well:
 | LAW ONE: When Creativity Occurs
 | "First Desire, then Form"
Creation begins with desire, for desire is the evolutionary engine of
the Universe. Without desire there is no motion, no creation, no
life. Desire is the initiating element in the magical act of
creation as shown symbolically in Tarot
Key 1 (The Magician & The Transparent Intelligence), for it is
desire which draws our attention down into a particular field of
manifestation. One cannot concentrate for long on something that
they're not interested in, and therefore desire is a prerequisite for
creation. The Magician, who performs the creative act, wears the
red robe of desire. Furthermore, desire does indeed shape and
build form by moving us into action as shown in Tarot
Key 18 (The Moon & The Corporeal Intelligence).

 | "What do you Really Want?"
This is the primary question which life continually asks us throughout
all of our triumphs and failures. It is in fact the call of the
Self seeking its own, the father seeking the son, your own spirit
calling to YOU. When you truly know what you want, all of
creation comes to your aid.
Of course, this begs the question: How do I find out what I
want?
The only answer is the paradoxical, "Do what you want to do." |
|
 | LAW TWO: How Creativity Occurs
The Creativity Creed:
 | Know Thyself
Knowing what you want starts the creative process. However, to
truly know what it is you want, you must also come to know just who and
what you truly ARE. The Tarot
keys symbolically reveal the various aspects of consciousness and in
sum total show to us who and what we are. As a part of this
process you must also come to know what you've been desiring
and why. Knowledge of the "whys" of one's desires leads
to knowledge of self.
|
 | Focus on the Positives
Focusing on something tends to bring it to manifestation, so it is best
to concentrate on those things you desire to see manifest, and not upon
those things you fear or do not want to see come about. The first
steps of the creative process are shown symbolically by the following
sequence of Tarot keys: Acts of attention (The
Magician), plant seed thoughts into the subconscious mind (The
High Priestess), which then becomes pregnant and gives birth to new
ideas (The Empress).
For a detailed summary of the creative process, see also How
to Get What You Want.
|
 | Allow it to Occur
While one must do what is required, one should not be attached to the
results of their efforts. This is the secret of work, illustrated
in Tarot Key 8 (Strength
& The Intelligence of the Secret of All Spiritual Activities).
After taking action, one needs to allow the manifestation to occur
without interference, by having enough faith in the process to release attachment
to results. |
|
 | LAW THREE: Where Creativity Occurs
Creation is a process of bringing into manifestation from the Above to
the Below. As it states in the Emerald Tablet of Hermes:
"all things are from One, by the mediation of One, so all things have
their birth from this One thing by adaptation." At its root, creation
is a mental process which brings down something from one plane
of existence to another. |
 | LAW FOUR: Why Creativity Occurs
The Creativity Purpose:
What is the purpose of creation? In the video, Robert states it as
"creating heaven on earth, bringing everyone to oneness." It
is true that what was created has within itself the desire to return to the
creator, but even this return to oneness is not the end, for creation
has no end. This is the eternal dance of life. This ultimate
goal and purpose is shown symbolically in Tarot
Key 21 (The World & The Administrative Intelligence).
Ultimately though, the question of why the creator creates must lead us to
ponder the Divine Paradox. |
 | LAW FIVE: Who is the Creator?
The Creativity Catalyst:
In order to create, it seems as though we must do the work. Yet, just
who is it who really does the work? Are we truly the doer? It
has been said that ultimately, the personality is not the doer, that
personal action is only a response to the promptings of the One Self.
This fact is shown symbolically in Tarot
Key 9 (The Hermit & The Intelligence of Will).
So until we finally come to realize just who and what we truly are, we'll
have to do the work as if it's us doing it. Until that time, we'll
make no mistake by living up to the best that's in us, by pursuing our
desires and by having the faith
in ourselves that we can make a difference.
