Aspect of Consciousness:
SuperConsciousness
Knowing ALL at once, simultaneously. The state of consciousness of the
One Universal Mind, which is totally free and beyond limitation. The
Absolute; The Causeless Cause of ALL; The Life Power; The One Force; The One
Thing; The Limitless Light; The Primal Will; The NO-THING; The
Undifferentiated Power preceding all manifestation.
Hebrew Name: Aleph (Ox)
![]()
In ancient times, oxen, under harness, were the primary engines for
agriculture and thus civilization. The harnessing of a vital force for the
purpose of creating some specific form relates to the role of
super-consciousness as well. It is Superconsciousness which
harnesses itself into human personality for the purpose of evolving each
one. The various names for this vital principle (Ruach, Spirit, Spiritus,
Pneuma, and Prana) all mean "Breath".1
Qabalistic Intelligence: The
Scintillating Intelligence
This mode of consciousness is called the Fiery or Scintillating Intelligence
because this One Thing from which all else comes is like radiant fire.2
Astrological Correspondence: Uranus
Planet of change, originality, sudden events, opportunities, the future,
sudden upheaval and swift unexpected happenings. It governs all that's
"new, original, different, and unorthodox." 3
Uranus is an emblem of the "spirit unafraid of its
individuality."4
Number: 0
"An ellipse, representing the Cosmic Egg, whence come all things. Zero
is a symbol of the absence of quality, quantity, or mass. Thus it denotes
absolute freedom from every limitation whatever. It is a sign of the infinite
and eternal Conscious Energy, itself No-Thing, though manifested in
everything."5
Color / Note: Pale Yellow / E natural.
Symbolism:
(Summarized from "The Tarot", by P.F.Case)6
The White Sun: The Primal Will. "Kether" on the Tree of Life. The Life Power descends from this One Will when a creative cycle begins.
The Fool himself: He is the Life Power manifesting as Life. He is the absolutely free and perfect being that's at the core of each of us. The Fool is about to descend into the valley of physical space-time manifestation for the purpose of growth and experience.
The Fool's garments: Over his inner white garment of wisdom is the black robe of ignorance lined with the red of passion and bound with a belt symbolizing time. The black robe is highly decorated and symbolizes the human personality. The message is that the Life Power dons the clothes of human personality and descends into the limited field of physical space-time manifestation. Human personality is but an instrument for the ONE.
The Staff and Purse: The staff symbolizes will and self-consciousness, and the purse symbolizes memory and sub-consciousness. Inside the purse, the Fool carries his summed up experience from all previous cycles of manifestation. The Life Power uses these as it's tools along the journey.
The White Rose: Purified desire. The Fool's desires are pure and in harmony with the Life Power.
The White Dog: Symbolic of the personal intellect. Subordinate to Superconsciousness, it follows and acts as a helper and companion.
The challenge is to consciously apply the principle of The Fool to everyday life:
| Vision: You see the possibilities that the future holds. | |
| Confidence: You cannot fail! Engaging in life always results in growth and experience. | |
| Youthful Enthusiasm: "All the Power that ever was or will be is here now."9 | |
| Integrity: Your desires are pure and your aim is true. |

| Ask yourself any of the following questions:8 |
In what area of my life do I need to learn or try something new?
Where do I wish I were heading?
What do I feel fearful about trying?
What do I feel my Higher Self pushing me towards?
How would a more carefree and trusting attitude help me?
How can I lighten my burdens, and my attitude?
In what area may I be appearing foolish to others, but true to myself?
